Bamboo comes in many varieties, there are running and clumping types .
They are often planted deliberately as ornamental or screening plants.
However, they can quickly grow beyond ornamental and become a nuisance. Like knotweed, some bamboos spread rapidly though their underground stems or rhizomes.
Although you can treat them with over the counter remedies from garden centres, it can be a long and laborious process.
